With the coming of spring, the imagination awakens and new ideas are born! No matter what your creative project is for this year, there’s a muse to inspire and guide you. Sponsored by the Triangle Area Pagan Alliance and hosted by the UUFR Fellowship Of The Oak - CUUPS, Bull Moon Hearth of Durham presents a ritual designed to honor Mnemosyne, Goddess of Memory, and her inspirational daughters, the Nine Greek Muses of art, creativity and intellect.
We’ll make offerings to each of the Muses and to other divine artistic patrons, then ask their blessings on the work we have planned for the year, whether that’s writing, music, dramatic art, dance, visual art, crafting, coding, research, academics – whatever needs a creative spark!
If you have a piece of jewelry, creative tool (crochet needle, paintbrush, musical instrument, etc.) or other item you’d like blessed during the ritual, please bring it and add it to our altar. During the ritual, we’ll do some divination for guidance in our creative efforts – bring your own divination tools or ask for input from one of us.
The ritual also will include chances for participants to make offerings to other supportive Ancestors, Spirits or Deities if they choose, as well as a chance to make their own, personal offerings to the Muses. Please also bring a snack to share after the ritual. Drums, other instruments and noisemakers also are welcome!
Those who are interested, know that performances of dance, poetry, dramatic pieces, music, etc, can be incorporated as offerings during the ritual, as well as tangible "stuff" like flowers, libations, incense or other physical offerings.
If you're interested in incorporating some kind of performance into the ritual, let us know at [email protected].
We are looking forward to seeing everyone, and hoping that the weather will be nice that weekend!
