In the past month we’ve had a lot of people asking us about children’s or family-friendly rituals, events, or activities. Our friends down at Church of the Earth reached out, and we’re happy to share their information with you all! Church of the Earth is taking steps to schedule more Family Events down at Gaia’s Gardens. They currently host Sunday Circles on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, and the 3rd Sunday of every-other month is now devoted to families. These child-centric activities are a place where parents and children can bond while exploring their spiritual paths together. Upcoming events include: Sunday July 19, 10:30am - Stories and Lore Sunday October 18, 10:30am - Raptors (birds of prey) and lore Saturday October 31, 10:30am - Samhain Family Event Sunday December 20, 10:30am - Yule Family Event Please be sure to contact Church of the Earth if you have any questions about these or any other Church of the Earth activities or events. Happy solstice season, everyone! The fireflies are out, the magnolias are in bloom, and up here in Durham the Eno River is refreshing, gentle, and cool. This is already turning out to be a fantastic and exciting summer, and we’re really happy to be part of such an active and vibrant community. There are so many fun things happening this Midsummer season that TAPA can't attend them all! So we're splitting our efforts and scattering to all of the corners of the Triangle, trying to soak in as much Midsummery goodness as we can! Carolina Spirit Quest is back with a “Spring Quest” day of workshops, food, and rituals. Join them at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Hillsborough on Saturday, June 20 starting at 9am. The event is free and food is included. Local oracular group Hasaeti is facilitating the closing ritual, so we know for a fact that it will be amazing! Be sure to RSVP. http://www.facebook.com/events/441115519395465/ One of our Triangle Druid groups, Awen’s Light Grove, is hosting their Alban Hefin ritual on Saturday, June 20 down at Gaia’s Gardens in Raleigh. Gather at 10am, ritual at 11. These are sweet, incredibly friendly folks, and they are vanguards of Druid hospitality! http://www.meetup.com/ALGDruids/events/220623552/ And later on in the day, Church of the Earth is hosting their Midsummer ritual, also at Gaia’s Gardens. Join them at 8pm for ritual and celebration! http://www.meetup.com/GaiasGardens/events/222443398/ Our friends over at Thaumaturgy 777 are also hosting a Summer Solstice Festival! Saturday, June 20 from 2pm to 9pm. Magus will have vendors, children’s activities, music, a raffle, and other great offerings. Gaia’s Circle will be facilitating a Midsummer ritual at 5pm, with a drum circle right after the ritual. The festival is free and open to all. The Triangle area is blessed to have such an incredibly active and vibrant Pagan community. Rituals, workshops, festivals, events, gatherings – there’s always something going on, and there’s something for everybody! (Did we forget to list your event? Please let us know! We keep an active and updated listing of all open Triangle Pagan events that we know of. If you don’t let us know about your group or event, we can’t include you! We post events and fliers here on our blog, on our EVENTS page on the website, and on our Facebook page! Get your voice heard, and connect with TAPA as soon as possible! We want to hear from you, and the rest of the community does, too!) |
